Off-Switch Audio are happy to present the first in their new digital series of releases, 'Synaesthesia’. Catalogued OSD001, this one showcases a broad range of sounds across the 140 spectrum.

First up on the compilation is label founder Sam ULG’s ‘6evil6’. With plucky melodies sat above a lush landscape of squarewaves and atmospheric sounds, Sam ULG’s take on the weightless grime style, begins the sonic journey. Following on from this, Off-Switch Audio welcomes back Nuboid with ‘In My Castle’, a similarly melodic grime instrumental, this time bringing up the pace with punchy percussion and drum work.

Next up, welcoming Zygos to the OSA roster with ‘In Tears’, the vibe incrementally diversifies to a more sub-heavy realm, without losing any focus on the beautifully crafted synth work and arpeggiated melodies.

Completely switching things up with a darker number from Imajika; ‘Are You Worried’ skillfully incorporates techno influences with the OG dubstep sound. Barom then follows on from this with another wave of melodic driven percussive 140, with plenty of weight in the right places. This flows nicely into Major Oak’s ‘Hmm’. Despite the name, there’s no doubt to be had; this one’s a raw and upfront sound system banger.

Changing up the vibe yet again, Ghidorah steadies everything back down with ‘Hate U’, a lo-fi laced 140 tune. Combining rolling hi-hats and 808s with rain and crackle (and a sprinkle of emo for good measure), this is one for the late winter nights.

Last but by no means least, Koma’s ‘Limoges’ takes the compilation to its final destination. With wonky drums and melodies pristinely placed among crunchy foley, Koma’s acousmatic take on the dubstep sound brings the release to a perfect close.

To top things off, each track from this VA compilation has its own individual artwork designed by Off-Switch Audio/Vivid State’s visual artist Ori. A limited number of prints will be sold alongside downloads ahead of release day. So despite this being the first in the ‘Off-Switch Digital’ catalogue, its physical presence will remain strong.
